In the midst of looking for an admin support person my human resource coordinator said she wanted to move out of state and work remotely. While I am considering this proposal I think I can make it work but not doing her current job. This gives me the opportunity to redesign my team. Curious if anyone has experience they can share on best methods or approaches?

Not all individuals can be effective working from home. Since this employee already has established work relationships so there is a greater probability this will work. Some practical considerations are: Stay connected/engaged (i.e. do you have internal online chat or video chat); structure measurable work deliverables (response times, accessibility to internal customers); monthly or quarterly on-site meetings; legal / liability considerations with "safe" work environment; make sure connectivity to systems are reliable and secure; Lastly, I would communicate that this is going to be "trial basis" and see how it goes. Hope this helps.
