Best GAAP research tools?

For an application to download Edgar filings for any US public company into Excel, this one is inexpensive ($2000/year/person) and easy to use: https://www.opexengine.com/edgarengine-financial-insights/
We currently use Thomson Reueters and I have used PwC Comperio prior to this. I grew accustomed to Comperio, but search functions were a bit messy. It became customary just to go to the ARM (Accounting Research Manual) in Comperio. the ARM is what the audit team uses. I would do a trial of your top two or three and pick from those.
