Here's a great Proformative resource for reviewing the budgeting/planning marketplace:

In a manufacturing environment you must make sure your planning and budgeting software solution is capable of working with inventory, work in process and sales bookings. Once you are able to forecast your sales, COGS, and what inventory levels (including WIP) should be throughout your planning calendar, your software must be able to accurately and completely generate your forecasted balance sheet, as well as the statement of cash flows. This is important because it will clearly indicate what your cash needs are throughout the budget period, as well as provide other key balance sheet account balances, key financial ratios, etc.
In addition to the software applications you mention in your question I would highly recommend evaluating Budget Maestro from Centage Corporation (www.centage.com), as it was designed to perform these important tasks I mentioned above. It will also provide you with the needed forecasted financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, statement of cash flows, income statement) while alerting you to the future financial health of the organization in response to the proposed budget and historical data.
