Bottoms up forecast model in excel

What are you forecasting? Cash Flow? Sales? Something else? If you're forecasting cash flow, I wouldn't recommend using someone else's simple model. As a CFO, I've used spreadsheets to forecast cash flow in four different cash-poor companies, and all the forecasts were only vaguely similar to each other.

Also, the techniques are quite different for a long-term cash flow forecast with monthly buckets, for a six-week forecast with weekly buckets, and for a weekly forecast with daily buckets...all of which I found useful.
