Absolutely. Especially if the
80% of what most companies do is similar and that 20% that may set them apart...you can intimately understand during the implementation/Set-up so that you can configure the system to the optimum settings for your client.
Once you have that completed and you digitize all paperwork you can provide your services pretty much anywhere in the world 24/7/365!
I agree with Tom and in fact it is the best way to go as your client as well as staff can access the system through a Web browser. One issue you may face is licensing fees related to using it for multiple clients. I know someone that wanted to use Net Suite for such an application and the Net Suite licensing structure did not accommodate multiple client use.
We use Intacct for our g/l and the transparency, remote access, etc. renders it very useful for keeping on top of any accounting we've outsourced to partners.
