For the challenges you are describing, you might want to investigate Budget Maestro from Centage Corporation (www.centage.com), with its companion product Analytics Maestro. There is a direct and automated interface from QuickBooks, and you will not have to enter a single formula to be able to complete the budget model. Then all actual accounting results and budgeted data can be easily displayed visually (and also through presentation reports) using the Analytics Maestro application. Your entire analysis requirement can be set up in this application and as data is updated periodically, it will be displayed using the already established format. Slicing and dicing this data is accomplished with a click the mouse. All other solutions that I have worked with are either going to be complex and expensive to implement, or will require use of formulas and links which are inherently error prone and cumbersome to maintain. I have looked at several other solutions for small and medium size businesses and they all were a lot more difficult to implement and required considerably more IT resources and consulting services.

I immensely appreciate the information and our analysis. I will definitely research the application and compare it to the others I have noted. The client falls into the small to medium size business. Therefore, your thoughts are in the appropriate context.
Thanks,
