I have only been exposed to ACT! and Salesforce.com and there is no comparison - Salesforce wins hands down. We had constant problems with database corruption with ACT as well as on-going issues with the sync process which made Salesforce a great solution since it is cloud-based. The only issue we've had with Salesforce is that there is so much available in the software that it has been overwhelming to the sales staff. Yes, I think we need something simple, without too many confusing features as well.
I think software designers sometimes confuse features with benefits and add a few too many features, when the real benefit is being able to use it and get somewhere.
You might want to look at the low end Salesforce licenses if you five or fewer users. It is basic contact
