I am new in accounting and I am looking to grow into accounting. I am still looking for entry-level accounting jobs but I do not have a background in accounting. How do I get started? what books do you recommend I read and how can I grow in accounting? I also would like to know if there are any textbook that is easy to understand in taxation and Audit? Thank you.

Hi Samuel,
Buying local accounting books which have basic examples - both questions and solutions might help you.
Fundamentals will have to made strong. Basic debit credit rules. And slowly you can proceed to simple journal entries, trial balance, profit and loss account and BS.
In India, I used to follow Shukla and Grewal book.
