We are currently running Great Plains and using FRx for our report writing needs. With FRx going away we have started the process of finding a replacement (we are sticking with Great Plains). Any thoughts/experience on replacing FRx? We are a mid-size company, about 25 user licenses on GP, maybe 3 or 4 users able to write FRx reports (rest of us capable of modifying existing reports). Thanks in advance for any advice.

I was on GP at my last company and we were preparing to migrate to the replacement product for FRX - I think it is called
We are using GP and FRx as well. We are also planning to migrate to Management Reporter within the next month or so. From everyone I have spoken to, it is a pretty easy migration. Your consultant most likely can shed more light on this. To keep up with the newest developments with GP, I recommend attending Microsoft Convergence. It is a tradeshow for users of Microsoft Dynamics products that is well worth the money it costs to attend. GPUG, the Great Plains User Group, also has a lot of good information and
Hi Phil,
We moved onto GP about a year ago. Scaled down from Axapta. Management reporter, which I believe has taken over from FRX, is part of the overall package.
It's great, easy to use and we've given access to our 20 Aged Care Facility Managers. The format and ability to drill down to a transaction level has been a real hit.
We've not used FRX therefore there could be some functionality not available in Management Reporter.
Hope this helps.

My company has been on GP since 2008. We made the switch from FRX to the new reporting package Management Reporter earlier this year. All of our old FRX reports transferred to the new package seamlessly and the change eliminated some annoying percentage problems that we had with FRX. In my opinion Management Reporter is also easier and more intuitive to use.
Phil - there are quite a few options to consider when faced with replacing FRx. I've worked with quite a few clients faced with the same challenge as you. I would suggest expanding the scope of a potential reporting solution replacement to also consider a solution that can also streamline and automate your budgeting, planning and forecasting processes. There are quite a few good CPM solutions out on the market that I've seen many of my clients are selecting as a replacement to FRx. Some good examples are Prophix, Infor, Host Analytics and Adaptive Planning.
Thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it!
