Particularly if you have multiple locations or remote workers, having easy access to chat or online meetings can be helpful. Develop shared online resources (team rooms, shared directories) where individuals across departments can work collaboratively. Equip conference rooms with video conference capabilities and projectors. The more accessible these tools are, the more they will be used to promote a collaborative culture.
Communications is improved among employees, especially younger employees, through social media. Company information could be posted on Facebook or tweeted via Twitter or posted on Linked-In. If done correctly, in addition to increasing knowledge of the company to your current employees, you may gain interest from future customers or prospective employees.
