I read an interesting LinkedIn post, How NOT To Introduce Yourself. This article focused on face to face introductions, and I wanted to put a spin on this question and pose it here on Proformative, how should you introduce yourself virtually? How do you make a good first impression virtually? What is the best and worst virtual first impression you have ever made?
How do you introduce yourself virtually ?

A follow up question: Is this via video chat/conference/meeting or similar to this format, where it's a picture of a face and some words?
I was thinking more of an e-mail, conference call or a situation where there is no video. Yes, use video whenever possible, but let's assume we can't make that happen. From my experience. most finance leaders do not like video, especially if it is an initial conversation.
I would introduce myself with my name, position with the company and my reason for the communication. I skimmed through the LinkedIn article and would agree with all of those. Especially #1. Hate it; I don't care who you know, I care about the relationship we are trying to build.
