How easy is it to switch from one cloud service to another?

This is a great question that indirectly leads to the terms of your subscription agreement (that's what a cloud software contract is, not a licensing deal).
1. What termination conditions apply? Period of notice? Period of access to YOUR data after the expiration date? Technical capability (or lack of it) for you to download ALL your data in a database in a reasonable period of time.
2. Capacity of new vendor to upload what you need to have going forward? Are you going to try to upload x years of history from the old cloud database into the new one?
Cloud vendor standard terms vary from vendor to vendor; and their flexibility to amend standard terms will depend heavily on your size. If unsure about what the draft contract means, consult with folk who have done this before. It pays in the long run.
