We're looking at getting a valuation for either/both 409a and 123r valuations (long story). It's been a couple of years since I ran one of these and it seems that a lot of the players have changed. Anyone have a suggestion of someone they like? Price and quality are prime considerations (and not necessarily in that order). Thanks in advance.
Looking for 409a/123r valuation. Any preferred practitioners?

I used Jim when he was running valuations at Pagemill Partners. He left to start his own firm. Good guy, reasonably priced at the time. Had a bright associate working for him (the partners at these firms never do the valuation work). I'm not sure what the market rate is right now, but before the recession it was typically $5 to $7,500 for a straightforward job.
Tell him I sent you and maybe you'll get the "friend price". Or maybe he'll hang up on you...

We also used Jim and Teknos just as he was transitioning from Pagemill. Agree he is solid and his fees are reasonable.
These guys have had their ups and downs, but they put a new guy in charge of doing their valuations a couple of years ago named Bill Denebeim (he's the one actually doing the work) and he is very, very good.
