We want to take this opportunity to introduce you to a great educational program that will be taking place at Thunderbird School of Global Management January 19-23, 2015 on the campus in Glendale, Arizona – the Valley of the Sun.

In conjunction with the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA), the program will focus on all the many aspects of mergers and acquisitions on both a domestic and international basis, and will lead the participant to becoming a “Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor” (CM&AA). This certificate is a professional designation given by The Alliance. More and more this designation is becoming the standard that advisors operating in small- to mid-market merger and acquisition space are expected to meet. After successfully completing the course and test, participants will automatically receive the certification as well as initial membership in the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA). Participants will receive the CM&AA designation from the AM&AA and a separate Certificate of Completion from the Thunderbird Center for Global Entrepreneurship. For those who wish to earn CPE units, the course counts as 40 units.

Agree with Sarah that you should start with Proformative - get a base at reasonable price.

I took a course at a local university, that was taught by an executive, so the advice was more hands on.

Certified M&A Advisor (CM&AA) has been mentioned above. It is offered by AM&AA (Alliance of M&A Advisors, www.amaaonline.com).

Its 50th class (C50) will start on May 2nd, 2016 in Chicago at the DePaul university. It is a 5-day class. Many desribe the cousre as "drinking from a fire hose". Typical class has CFOs, CPAs, M&A advisors, corporate executives, attorneys, etc.
