What is the difference between "Business Execution Software" and Business Performance Management Software"?

We are in the market for a BPM solution but SuccessFactors seems to be trying to change the terms in the space. Is there a real difference (other than marketing speak)? If I'm looking at one category, should I de facto be looking at the other category?

They are essentially the same. What SuccessFactors has realized, through some fairly compelling research, is that there is significant unrealized value by organizations using BPM solutions.

Historical BPM solution usage has focused on employee performance management. This is a critical component in a BPM initiative. However, the full value of BPM solutions cannot be realized if organizations are not enabled to align organizational objectives with business unit and individual employee goals.
